The Saturday after the crucifixion of Jesus was the darkest day in history for Jesus’ disciples. All hope was lost. And Peter would have felt the sting even more having denied his Lord and Savior three times. On Saturday, the reality of the dark week set in. Jesus’ body lay in a cold tomb. The disciples’ hearts were filled with deep pain. It seemed death had won. However, the disciples would soon understand that pain is only just a moment. And joy comes in the morning. Resurrection Sunday was just around the corner for those stuck on Saturday.
