Hostrander explains, “’Beautiful Scars’ was written in my bedroom when I was thirteen years old. It came from the idea that most don’t view scars as a beautiful thing. Things that result in scars typically aren’t pretty. We can all relate to pain. The thing is, without those not so pretty things, we wouldn’t be the people we are today. A lot of times the rough things in life provide us with the lessons that make us beautiful today.”
