Originally entitled "Song For Wayne," it's a tribute to the late great Rich Mullins (October 21, 1955 – September 19, 1997) who was known by "Wayne" among family and close friends.

I started writing this while teaching music to kids on the Ute Reservation in Towaoc, Colorado in 2017. That year I did a special tour with the Western Indian Radio Network out of Tse Bonito, New Mexico. In September they held a 20th Memorial for Rich Mullins at Window Rock, and I was invited to be part of a sing-along - plus I had returned for some shows including a special concert in Toh'la'kai with Mitch McVicker and Dave Sprinkle. We recorded this specially for the radio station KHAC in connection with the memorial.


When putting songs together for the "Trina" project, my producer John Roginski suggested we come back to this recording and give it a bigger/better production. Trina's life reflected Rich's life. Both walked a path of brokenness. Both knew the love of God. And both desired to make God's love known.

Coming back to this recording, it dawned on me that this September will mark Rich's 25th Memorial.


The song will be featured on the upcoming album "Trina," and the project will feature Mariah Hostrander, Mitch McVicker, Marielle Brown, and John Roginski.

All proceeds from this single as well as the upcoming album "Trina" will go to the HealthWell Foundation to benefit cancer patients in need of financial assistance.

On March 4th, the song will also be available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc.
